If it takes you 5 seconds an attempt, Diary Page 6 would take you over 28 years if you started and never stopped.
Honestly... they probably didn't think it through and the combos have likely been changed over the years.
My conclusion? Keep pestering KRU for hints.
Wings of Fury is the only item that was ever created without hints.
How Best to Test
Okay, so you have an idea, a small select parameter of numbers you want to test out.
Here's the quickest method of testing I've found.

Think of each column of items like a digit on a digital watch. Once you finish a column everything to the right resets and the number to the left changes by one.

This method works great for two reasons:
1. It's very easy to keep track of. It's a lot harder to forget where you were or miss a bunch of combos since you have plenty of visual reminders on the ground.
2. You don't have to manually add everything. Simply hold Shift and down arrow until you have the entire batch of items selected. Then press Enter. This will save you a lot of time!
Something to be Careful Of!
The creation system can respond faster than you picking up or dropping an item. So wait until you can see the correct number of items in your inventory before you press the Add button.
